Imagine a world without colors, imagine penguins. It’s just a thought nothing serious about it, now pick your palette and brush, and start painting this cute little fluffy (penguin) with all the bright colors you can think of pink, green, blue, yellow and red. Once done place a mirror before this penguin, poor bird might either jump into the ocean- blue to get it cleaned or will probably commit suicide thinking of some incurable disease.
Colors are bold, they are bold like hell! Try to miss it out, and I can bet you can’t, no matter how hard you try. They are too powerful to be missed. Using bold and bright colors can be tricky. You add some here, you some there and you pause for a while to see whether the harmony is disturbed or not, trust me most of the time one end up killing the art. But when one keep on adding colors from all directions and wait, and let the time be the master. You will see how colors fight their battle of survival colors compliment, kill, overpower, surrender to each other at their own terms. In the world of colors everything is possible even a miracle so wait and have patience, let colors live there life.
Kitsch played an important role in getting bright and bold colors back in life. Henri Matisse fought a lone battle during his time, and few more artists had to go through it too. Critique tried everything possible to blow it down to proportions but failed miserably.
So, if these bright loud colors with unusual form, if it did managed to get the required eyeballs fighting their battle of survival. One can certainly say Kitsch – you can hate me, you can reject me, but you can’t ignore me.
Try taking kitsch out of your life or simpler way would be wish you were penguin.
Colors speak, colors express. They blush, they crib, they cry, they smile, they mimic. Nothing can be colorless, no way. You paint things in the complete hue of darkness. Still it would know show you the shades of its imagination. Kitsch is a folly, a state of being unaware of what beauty, or rather a better experience of Life is nearby. Jus’ open up a li”l. 🙂
Thanks Aditya… thats better than what i thought, you words make hell lot of sense I like it. 🙂
